This tour takes you along Andøya's amazing west coast to Bleiksøya, where you will experience one of Northern Norway's largest puffin colonies and several other seabirds. We will also pass by a gannet colony and the majestic white-tailed eagle can be seen in large numbers throughout the year. You will experience magnificent landscapes and beautiful beaches along the coast from Andenes to Høyvika (also known as our apple-beach) - views that will take your breath away.
We meet up 15 minutes before departure and get information about what to expect from the trip, the safety on board, and we put on wind and waterproof floatation suits. Then we go on board and start the trip. Our boat is called “Bris” and is a Ribeye 785 rib boat that seats 12 people. We start the tour by crossing the inner archipelago of the Andenes and stop at the gannet colony before continuing towards Bleiksøya and the puffins. After watching the puffins and other birds at Bleiksøya, we continue the tour to the "three hidden beaches" of Andøy; Otervika, Rækvika and Høyvika (also called the apple-beach after a photo of Høyvika Beach, taken by photographer Stian Klo, was featured on Apple's iPad Pro in 2015), before returning to Andenes. The trip lasts about 2 hours.
During the breeding season from mid-April to mid-August you will experience a gannet colony and one of the most important puffin colonies in northern Norway with thousands of puffins. Other seabirds we usually see are cormorants, shags, razorbills, kittiwakes, Arctic skuas, black guillemots, common guillemots and white-tailed eagles.
Other species that we can see from time to time are harbour seals, grey seals, otters and different whales like harbour porpoises, killer whales, pilot whales or Atlantic white-sided dolphins.

It is always colder at sea than on land and therefore good clothing is important when going on safari, regardless of season. We recommend wearing warm clothes (wool) and good shoes. Remember hat and mittens!
